Spurs U18s in the PSV Otten Cup

Following their second place finish in the Eurofoot Tournament last week, our Academy squad are back in action in the PSV Otten Cup.

We’ve taken quite a young squad:

Ranieiri, Byrne, Tapping, Nicholson, Durojaiye, Francis-Angol, Stewart, Luongo, Coulthirst, Kane, Champion, Oyenuga, Archer, Ekong, Sheriff, Day, Hawkins, Yeboah.

No M’Poku, Fredericks and Carroll amongst others, which could mean that they will play against Hampton & Richmond Borough on Tuesday (I will be heading to that one and will write a report).

We were beaten 2-0 by PSV last night – Djordjevic and Maria were the scorers. Photos from the PSV game.

This afternoon we have lost 2-1 to Borussia Mönchengladbach, with Massimo Luongo getting our goal. Ajax beat PSV 2-0 which means that we can’t qualify fr the next round, so the match against Ajax at 2pm till be our final game.

Windy are you getting paid by super Spurs, you should be . This crop of lads don’t sound has good has our previous under 18what do you think and who should we look out for the lad Kane and Fredericks sound okay is this true .DAVVSPURS

  • Windy says:

Too early to tell for most of them, mate, but Kane has a habit of scoring goals, which is no bad thing. He’s quite an intelligent player for one so young.

What’s happened to Laste Dombaxe? He’s not appeared since the Milk Cup where he was our top man, and his names been taken off the list of first year academy players on the official site?

And do we know if Luongo is signed up? Would we have trouble getting a permit for him if so?

  • Windy says:

I too had noticed that Dombaxe had been removed since from the OS, but he was actually removed before his appearances in the Milk Cup, so I’m not reading too much into it…

I’m also unsure whether Luongo has signed any kind of contract or whether he’s still on trial – sorry! I wonder whether he has dual Australian/Italian nationality?

Good to know, hope he is still with us as he often received positive reports from his u18 games last season and this pre season.

That would be useful if we sign him up! Always good to see that we do actually have a scouting network that extends to the further reaches of the world.

To add, it appeared he played against Hampton and Richmond last night.

  • Windy says:

He did indeed – he did well, looked bright and lively.
I’ll write a full report later on.
