Spurs Academy update

I posted an article on the game against Manchester United from pre-season – you can watch highlights of this match on youtube, via the link.

We have played three matches so far in the FA Premier Academy League, and have an away win, and two home defeats. In fairness, the line-up for the home defeat to West Bromwich Albion was very young, and the same can be said for the Norwich City game yesterday.

  1. In fairness I don't believe our youth team coaches to be overly concerned with victory or defeat as the team should naturally have a winner's mentality anyway. What does take precedence is the players education and rise of their technical ability, and this for me is a good thing. What Say you Windy?

    Foggy.
  2. Absolutely right, Foggy - success is a bonus, and will breed confidence, but it's all about the development of the individual.
The size difference between some of our players and some of the West Brom players was quite staggering. West Brom have a midfield player called George Thorn who is built a bit like Huddlestone - our boys couldn't get near him, and he had so much time on the ball as a result.
  3. Don't forget to come over to Triffic Tottenham Forum for a chat some time Windy.

    Foggy.
  4. Windy,
Foggy and his coleagues over at 'Triffic Tottenham' and myself have been engaged in trying to confirm the signing of young Honduran striker Anthony Lozano
I think we have at last via Wiki, the Sun and Glory Glory.

Has he passed into your sphere yet? If so can you tell us of his likely progress.
He is 17 and will presumably join the U18 squad
or perhaps you have later and better info.

He is highly rated but these days unlikely to join the first team squad.
  5. Jimmy - the latest quote that I saw attributed to him was:

"I have not yet signed, but when I will return to England, everything is set and only needed the signature," said 17-year player, who also explained that training is an agreement not a contract and who is under age.

I've not seen him, but will keep an eye out...
