Next match

We topped Group B with six points (equal with Hanover 96) and a goal difference of +2 (Hannover 96 -1) and now play SV Werder Bremen at 12:30 (local time) in the semi-final. The other semi-final sees Club America play Hannover 96.

Squad notes

– Victor Zapata-Caceido is the only recognised striker in the squad, and even he has often played from the left throughout the Premier Academy League season. I presume that this is due to injuries to Darren McQueen and Shaq Coulthirst.
– Missing men: Massimo Luongo and Giancarlo Gallifuoco have returned to Australia for the summer – I suspect that Soulemayne Coulibaly and Milos Veljkovic have also been given some time off having played a lot of games in the last calendar year.
– The squad size may also have been affected by 2nd years coming to the end of their scholarships and being released.
– Our only “overage” players are Jesse Waller Lasse and Ryan Fredericks; others that would have been eligible as the final overage player are: John Bostock, Mirko Ranieri, Tom Carroll, Nathan Byrne, Jake Nicholson, Paul McBride, Massimo Luongo, Cameron Lancaster, and Cristian Ceballo.

  1. Nabil Bentelab at 15 playing in this tournament. He must have a big future? Anyone know anything about him?
  2. There's plenty on Google, he's French, signed 2 year contract in Nov 2011. Getting plenty of good reviews from Alex Inglethorpe the coach.
  3. I see Dominic Ball has been playing at CB in recent matches rather than midfield.
