Analysis of the goal conceded against Swansea (30/3)

Michu’s goal – After a period of pressure, Swansea win a corner. Ki Sung-Yueng delivers the set piece, Dawson gets caught under the ball, and Michu guides a header in off the post.

With the corner set to be taken, Dawson is marking Michu whilst Vertonghen has Williams.

Michu makes his move, and Dawson goes with him…

Whilst Michu gets up early to meet the delivery, Dawson takes a stride too many, and gets caught under the flight of the ball.

This leaves Michu in enough space to guide a header into the corner of the net – in off the post.

Michu owned Dawson and should have scored at least two headers. Michu would be a good signing for us. Patchy performance except Verts and Bale. So I expect that we are now officially upgraded to a two man team.

I don't know why defenders don't jump earlier. The striker runs, the defender follows, the striker stops then jumps, and the defender is still running. Do you think that when Kaboul comes back he should take Walker's place on the right? Do you also think that BAE is uninterested?

If we had a man on far-post that would of been cleared, that's not first time this season that's happened, time for us to wake up on that one.

Dawson is a sup-par man marker, unfortunately. Love his heart, but I'm afraid that he should be a backup not a starter.
