It’s been nearly two months since my last youth/loan update, so I thought it was time to write a summary of how things are going for our young players.

Analysis of the goals conceded against Everton (9/12)
Pienaar’s goal – a long ball forward is flicked on, and Lloris shouts and comes to claim it. Caulker clears straight to an Everton player (Naismith) and, after another attempted clearance, Everton force the ball wide to Coleman. His cross falls nicely for Pienaar to plant his header into the far corner.

Analysis of the goal conceded against Panathinaikos (6/12)
Zeca’s goal – Panathinaikos move the ball wide and Giourkas Spyropoulos whips in a cross. Zeca loses his marker, Naughton, and powers a diving header across Friedel and into the far post.

Analysis of the goal conceded against West Ham (25/11)
Andy Carroll’s goal – Caulker clears Taylor’s cross unnecessarily, with Lloris ready to pounce. The ball falls to O’Brien, who takes a touch and stands the ball up for Carroll, who loops a header in at the far post.
